Behind the scenes: a spotlight on imagination

Updated: Jan 18, 2020

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the Atelier?

Wondered how the individual elements become a whole?

Wanted to see a before and after shot to see what elements ended up getting edited out?

This is the first time that we've shown the creative process behind how the pieces sold in our web shop are created. Keep reading to find out more.

Focus on the prize

When creating a new piece the focus usually is on one standout element.

A beautiful glass bead, a piece of silverwork, a piece of chain with a link that is out of the ordinary.

It is this element that will help the piece come to life and inspire a name or a story for the piece.

Sometimes that name is based on the colour, the places it elicits, the legends that it summons or memories it evokes.

From concept to completion

The finished piece may have elements missing from the ones set aside in the concept stage.

Elements that were too big, too small, didn't fit the emerging story or name for the piece.

The five pictured here all have very diverse themes. These ones have a sci-fi novel/ancient past vibe actually :)

They are:

🌴 ''Khemrel'

🌴 'Birselen'

🌴 ''Bhutesh'

🌴 ''Yaselek'

🌴 ''Thealna'

The creative process is a unique one. There is no one way to go about it. You let your imagination run free and see where the spirit takes you. It's a process that can be exciting and frustrating in equal measure.
